APM terminals Apapa records 25 percent Rise in Non-Oil Export volumes

Nigeria’s largest container Terminal , APM.Terminals , Apapa has recorded a significant increase in non Oil Export volumes with a 25 percent year-On – year rise in the first quarter of 2024 .
APM terminals Apapa Terminal Manager, Steen Knudsen who made this disclosure said the Terminal’s H1 Export figures for non – Oil Cargo stood at 51,000 TEU’s up from 47,000 TEUS in the same period last year.
According to him,, non Oil Export cargo is a crucial part of the terminals business with steady growth recorded over the years .
” Over the last four years ,we have witnessed a steady growth in non- Oil Export cargo. In 2020 , Export volumes stood at 53,000 TEUS , in 2021 it rose to 63,000 TEUs and in 2022, 71,000 TEUS” — He said
The greatest rise in Exports according to Knudsen was recorded in 2023; when volumes rise to 94,000 TEUS , an increase of 32 percent .
To continue to drive this growth in non-Oil exports ,Mr. Knudsen made it known that the Terminal would be hosting its second exporters forum come September 19th.
The Exporters forum the company said is a way of supporting the Federal Government’s non Oil Export drive .
The Forum according to the company is a basically a brainstorming session where it rub minds with the various Exporting Associations in the country on Trade facilitation and more efficient movement of exports into the ports .
