Abia North leaders, constituents back senator Kalu for re-election

Abia North senatorial district’s constituents, including royal fathers and a university don, have continued to eulogize the lawmaker representing the zone at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, over his quality representation, particularly on infrastructure, and therefore want him back in 2027.
Among the traditional rulers are the Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Eze Linus Nto Mba, the paramount ruler of Ebem Ohafia ancient kingdom, His Royal Highness, Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, and a respected scholar and community leader from Ohafia Local Government Area, Professor Kalu Ukairo, among others.
The Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Eze Mba, described Senator Kalu’s efforts as unparalleled since the creation of Abia State, stating that the senator is known for his integrity, straightforwardness, independence, and one who speaks the truth without bias or favour.
He said,
“Your Excellency, my senator, no senator has done what you did in Abia North since the creation of Abia State. You have made Abia North people feel the value of good representation in the National Assembly.”

Eze Mba highlighted Kalu’s widespread developmental projects, which he said have significantly impacted lives across the senatorial district.
The monarch emphasized the senator’s major interventions in road construction, school renovations, healthcare, scholarships, empowerment programs, and solar streetlights, many of which had been lacking in the constituency and beyond for decades and particularly noted that Ihechiowa, a community that had suffered neglect for over 25 years, is now experiencing the dividends of democracy under Kalu’s leadership.
Also in a statement, the paramount ruler of Ebem Ohafia ancient kingdom, Eze Ukoha commended Senator Kalu for his dedication to the development of Ohafia.
The monarch, who is also widely respected for his honesty and independent stance, commended the senator for constructing a modern classroom block at Evan Primary School while emphasizing how the project has transformed education in the community.
He said, “We cannot thank him enough. His efforts to uplift our community are deeply appreciated,”
Eze Ukoha urged Kalu to continue his engagement with the people of Ohafia.

The traditional rulers who are highly regarded figures in the state, and also known for their wealth, integrity, and unbiased leadership, said they are not beggars who seek personal favors, rather they are distinguished traditional leaders who speak the truth without taking sides.
Their endorsement of Senator Kalu’s work further solidifies the senator’s reputation as a transformative leader whose impact is felt across Abia North.
Similarly in a strong show of support, a respected scholar and community leader from Ohafia Local Government Area, Professor Kalu Ukairo, at the weekend declared that the entire Abia North senatorial district will compel Senator Kalu to run again in 2027.
Ukairo’s statement came in response to Senator Kalu’s recent remarks, where he emphasized his current focus on delivering democratic dividends to the people of Abia North rather than engaging in 2027 politics.
Senator Kalu had stated that while addressing his constituents over the weekend:
“In Abia North, my focus right now is not on the politics of 2027, but on the people of Abia North senatorial district and how to improve their lives because there is hunger in the land. I can’t be talking about politics when my people are hungry. Though I appreciate”—He said
