In what has been described as an unprecedented act of generosity and commitment to the growth of freight forwarding in Nigeria, the National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, on Friday donated a brand-new 18-seater bus worth over ₦40 million to the association.

The event, which took place at the NAGAFF headquarters in Lagos, was marked by pomp and heartfelt celebration as members, executives, and well-wishers gathered to witness the official handover of the association’s first-ever official vehicle in its 25-year history.

While commissioning the vehicle, the Founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, expressed immense gratitude to Chief Ezisi, praising the gesture as both historic and deeply symbolic. He described the donation as a milestone that would forever be remembered in the annals of the association.

“This is not just a bus; it is a symbol of leadership, selflessness, and commitment to collective progress,” Dr. Aniebonam said. “Chief Ezisi has demonstrated that leadership is about service. He has become an instrument of support and transformation. May God continue to bless and protect him.”

Encouraging other affluent members of the association to emulate the philanthropic spirit of Chief Ezisi, Dr. Aniebonam described the NAGAFF President as “a gift to the association.”

Also speaking at the event, Chief Afam Chukwuma, the Deputy National President, Seaports, applauded the remarkable effort, describing Chief Ezisi — fondly known as Akuyienwataegwu — as a rare gem.

“What Akuyie has done today is no small feat,” Chukwuma said. “Ordinarily, such an achievement would require looking up to government agencies or sourcing funds through several channels. But he did this effortlessly. He made it look easy when it truly is not. May God continue to bless him abundantly.”

The donation of the bus is not only significant due to its value but also because it marks the first time in NAGAFF’s history that the association’s headquarters is officially receiving a vehicle from either an individual or a government entity. The gesture is expected to greatly enhance the mobility and operational capacity of the association.

Members of NAGAFF, who could not hide their joy, including Princess Chi Eze, the Vice President Seaports Western Zone, showered praises and prayers on Chief Ezisi for his benevolence, expressing optimism that his leadership would continue to usher in greater milestones for the association.
